Love for many is tender, heartfelt and sanguine, a feeling of compassion and warmth for another person. To make love is an extension of those feelings, and should be equally delicate and gentle. Freud identified that kind of unmitigated, unconscious desire in his discussions of the id, the raw hedonism in conflict with your sensibilities.
